Hi there
Los Crisitanos is an excellent choice, so well done you for choosing it. Its in the south of Tenerife and much less rowdy than it's neigbouring resort of Playa De Las Americas.
I'm actually off there too in June with my own family, so I think you've made a good choice.
Not sure if you've booked your accomodation yet, but there are some really nice hotels & apartments there. We love The Arona Gran, someone has also mentioned the Paradise Park- it's ok too.
Avoid the Princessa Dacil- it used to be good but that was years ago and it's gone way downhill over the last few years.
The Regency Country club is very nice as is the Reveron.
Some of the self catering accomodation (like Paradise Park, Beverley Hills Club, Hollywood Mirage etc) are all up the hill so be carefull if anyone has any walking or breathing conditions about booking up here.
To be honest, Los Cristianos is really nice, theres not many places to avoid- The Harbour is quite nice and you'll find that it will be mainly families and couples in their 30's, 40's and older- it does have some nightlife but most of it can be found in PDLA.
Loro Park in the north is a good trip for families with kids, and of course boat rides to see the dolphins are always a great favourite.
The beach at Los Cristianos is dark sand but very clean, and safe for sunbathing- the waters should be reasonably calm in June. There are also some nice pavement cafes where you can have a drink or something to eat while watching the goings on in the harbour. Its relaxing watching the colourful fishing boats gently bob on the water in the Spanish sunshine-Bliss!
The old town is full of little shops, bars and cafes to while away the hours on a sunny afternoon. Don't forget to check out the market held in the town every Sunday.
I think you're going to be absolutley fine- If you're looking for a relaxed holiday in the sun then you've chosen wisely.
I hope you have a great holiday!
All the best!

We've been twice to Paradise Park Aparthotel in Los Cristianos. It's fantastic. Ideal for kids of all ages. It's a short walk away from the bars and the beach a little further. Check it out when you go there. We went to the Loro Park and had a great day. The water park is great fun. We also went out on a pirate boat to see the dolphins and whales. That too was an experience but don't do it if you're hung over lol.

We went to the Castle Harbour Apartments in Los Christianos a couple of years ago and it was terrible. The apartments are at the top of a very steep hill, they seem to be privately owned and let out, so it's just your luck what you get. We never saw the cleaner in a week. We booked through Thomas Cook and could never find the rep to complain.
Los Christianos itself is lovely, loads of family friendly places to eat and drink. The promanade goes right along to Playa de las Americas, (worth a look, it's okay by day). We went on a days sight-seeing trip to Santa Cruise, on the East Coast, the town is more up-market with plenty shops and cafes. Had a great day.
There are plenty excursions to go on, you won't be disappointed.
Have a great holiday!

hiya. we went to los christianos as a seperate trip from las americas..totaly different attmosphere. dont take a public bus any distance, realy expensive. agree a set price with any cabbie before a journey...be very carefull about where you hire a car..they dont seem to have any standards of safety..no mot! bit of a journey, but i can recomend the underwater scooters..no scuba gear needed, your head is in a big perspex bowl with the fish outside!!!! when we were there they were based in puerto colon, south of las americas. the local countryside is very reminiscent of the backside of mars (compare photos on the net!) so theres not much to look at. you should be able to arrange an excursion up the mountain via your hotel. bear in mind, when they set a return time...they mean it. you will be left behind. if you want to explore, there are loads of little coastal villages that i saw from the scooter boat. the dolphin/whale trips are good value for money. watch out for the african street sellers, dont get aggressive, they always have backup nearby..just say no thanks firmly and walk away. one tried to put a watch on my daughters wrist in a bar..'look pretty mister' she was only 7 at the time. i called the manager and he kicked him out. most of the bars will offer a free liquer at the end of a meal. bar touts are a pain, they try to entice you into a bar or restaurant, not just at night either. there are loads of various 'odd bodds' trying to sell all sorts, from trips to time shares- free transport and dinner mate!. if you assume that anyone who approaches you is trying to fleese you you wont be far wrong! markets are good ..haggle! if they want 10 euro offer 1, but only if you realy want it! i bought some shorts cos i needed some..fell apart on first wash, but only cost 65p! have a good holiday then when you come back you can do what we did....buy a caravan and 4x4 to tow it with.

Nice place to go to.Much better than nearby Los Americas, especially for families.Steer clear of sea-front card players. They can lull you out of your money. Most restaurants are excellent.Stake out the busy ones and you cant go wrong.
