HELL YEA! Being US. Army, we are taught , never to leave someone behind. I am sure that the UK feels the same way. I think that Iran committed an act of war with the UK and is deserving an as skicking, into the next century!

I cant think of anything that would stop a war with Iran, even if these military personnel are handed over, a war has been on the cards for ages now.
As we are answering this question the military must be pouring over last minute plans.
Getting it all through UN may take some time but I am certain it will come.
Iran has actually declared war on the UK by this act, but why?
Do they want war? Lets remember they are all mad as hatters is it some sort of mass suicide attempt and an excuse to take as many non Muslims along with them!
As for your reply from CJ he makes a good point, lets get their oil while we are at it, just as a form of payment, call it a fine.

we know sanctions dont work
didnt work for sadman
and we had that oil for food scam with the wheat boards and annans son
the un didnt want tophear thepres of iran speach

the truth is those 15 lads were used as pawns, for one the british navy isnt stupid they knew exactly where they were, the patrol boat men were then sent without satnav and were caught bang to rights by the iranian authotirites. the orders came right from the whitehouse to whitehall, america and britain are itching to invade iran to steal more oil. britain dileberatley used those men as bait to start of an incident. and its laughable that the british army special forces are going to rescue them. what! a small force of 40 + men inserted into tehran and do an extraction, ho ho ho. those navy and marine boys are as good as beheaded. iran has the upper hand its time to talk. which is maybe what britain really wants as for the americans, when you hear the 4 minute warning run for cover!

Iran knows the score. Britain should give the Iranians a few days to turn them over. If force is needed, it's a good opportunity to destroy some Iranian nuclear facilities.

to be fair to the Iranians , the 15 Brits were not captured in the English Channel , but in Iran/Iraq contested waterways , what the f**k the 15 Brits doing in iranian water or Iraqi water . Mind you , the Brits knocked up a lot of foreign nationals in Belmarsh for no apparent reasons as none of them are formally charged for breaking any British law.

We don't have to threaten force just send in the SAS to get them back. The Iranians hate the British have done from way back in the Persian days. When the British and Soviet forces invaded their country in1941 because they refused to expel all German nationals from their soil.Even though Persia was a neutral country at the time.It had over 8million tons of oil output at the time which we couldn't leave for the Germans to get their grubby mitts on.The reason they have taken our boys is because they know that if they took Americans that would be the excuse Bush is looking for to bomb their arses.(Not that he needs an excuse)

Oh, I could have fun with this one!!

If this were Americans seeking the return of their service personnel, and threatened force, the British citizens would be all over us like flies on crap, moaning about what "war mongers" we are. And now that it's happening to them, their first response is military force? Kind of hypocritical, isn't it?

How come when Americans fight back, we're there to "steal oil" and "kill innocent people", but when the British decide to fight back, no one condemns them?

Nope ,because the incident it's still unclear...The Brits say that the soldiers that were captured were in Iraq water, the Iranians say that they were in Iranian waters...
If it's proved that they were indeed in Iranian waters then UK has absolutely no right to threaten anyone ,because they broke the law...
If the soldiers were in Iraq waters, then I don't think threatening Iran with an attack would help much...Britain should negotiate to recover their captured soldiers...
