hey, that's a really good amount of sleep for her to be having as they should be getting around 14-16hours of sleep and each child is different no matter how much people tell you that they 'should' be doing this or that (if that's the case then why as adults are we not all doing the same thing?!?!) my son is 18months and he hardly sleeps, he was only sleeping about 12hours a day at 6months but he was healthy happy and growing well so the doctors said he was fine, basically that's all you have to worry about, as long as she is healthy happy and growing well then you're doing an awesome job!!

Each child is different, and many variables will influence her sleep patterns. For example, at her age, how often she is awake and being amused or someone is interacting with her, how much physical effort she does each day, what she eats and how often she eats -- all these things will have an impact on her sleeping.

That being said, Elizabeth Pantley (see book below) suggests that 14-16 hours per days is about 'right' for a child her age.

Is your child mostly happy all day? Does she go to sleep easily? Does she sleep 'well'... by that I mean, does she sleep for 1 hour at least at a time during the day, and 2-3 hours at a time at night? The 12 hours at night sounds good, but perhaps she is a bit 'low' on naps?

It is true that children, in general, don't get enough sleep. There are a lot of things you can do to improve sleep habits if you think your child isn't sleeping enough.

it rather is common for newborns to sleep that a lot, yet u definitely ought to start waking her as much as consume greater. inspite of the undeniable fact that, 5 oz..of formulation is very a lot for a one month old already. My 4 month old is eating in basic terms a sprint greater effective than that, that is y yours is drowsing a lot. formulation will stick w/ infants longer- attempt waking her up so as that she does not have a nap era longer than 4 hrs at a time, and feed her in basic terms 3 oz..or so at a time and see if that doesn't keep her wakeful greater or a minimum of make her awaken by way of and massive.
