I guess for the most part, certain jobs a uniform is absolutely mandatory such as police officer, doctor e.t.c.
I think however wearing a head scarf, or a turban, yamaca e.t.c should be allowed along with a uniform.

The purpose of uniform is to bring out a semblance of oneness or equality. Cultural and religious clothing is alright only if it can bring workers together by opening up their minds to ideas, experiences and views different from their own. So, in part, it is okay. It stops being okay when segregation comes about because of the differences in culture or religion. Clothing is a major part of any culture, though not so much in religion. On the whole, I don't see anything wrong with being different.

The point of having a uniform, is as the word implies, to be "uniform" with the rest.
So if the point of the exercise was to ensure that everyone dresses in the same way, then having cultural/religious clothings, which are different, would defeat the purpose.

No. Its a work uniform. Once you get a job with a company you got to conform to its procedures and practices. If you don't like it just find a job which works best for you.

No they should not be allowed to. When you are hired, you sign a contract and if you can't adhere to the contract, you should get a job somewhere else.
