I have a secret way to stop global warming? Sheesh. It isn't a secret any longer! Do away with fossil fuels. We dig up buried coal and burn it. We pump oil out of the ground and burn it. We redeposit iron ore smelted down into steel to build cities and cars (which run on oil) which just might throw the magnetic polarity of the planet a bit out of whack. Take that iron and spread it around from where it was supposed to be before we discovered it. A bit of logic says leave it in the ground where it belongs. By doing what we are doing, we are unleashing the past into the future. But it's too late to turn back. I believe the damage has already been done and the Earth as a living biosphere will react.

The secret is that we can't stop it. If there were no people on earth the planet would still be warming. Some people think we are contributing to global warming but it would be happening even without humans - just a bit slower.

The bottom line is we may be able to slow global warming --maybe-- but we certainly can't stop it. The good news is that it's probably not as bad as some of the hype we hear.

There is no global warming, it is a farce, Gore's movie is not a factual report, entertaining, yes, but fact, NO, Scientists are reviewing the tape and have found many untruth, one big one is the movie says when the ice melts the ocean will rise 23 feet, scientists say a bit of an exaggeration, more like 23 inches, tops. It is all a scare tactic, but I can`t figure out what they are up to. Also the fellow who said remove the humans as we are totally the reason for it, That is a stupid remark, the earth goes through cycles of freezing and warming, takes about 100,000 years for the cycle to complete. Also the people who figure all this stuff out are saying we aren`t going into a warming trend but a cooling one. Furthermore, this is the third time in the past 60 years the earths temperature has risen, and we are only talking about a few degrees every 100 years. Don`t be sucked into the panic, look at all the reports and make an informed judgment.

There is no stopping global warming. Man's effect is like a grain of sand is to the Sahara Desert. Remember Mt. St. Helen. That was an event that had measurable impact and emissions. Compare that to realistic man-made emissions estimates, not those of some politician who stands to make a lot of money on "energy credits" if the American public buys into his spin. then look at how many volcanic eruptioins there have been over the past century. Also look into the effect of solar flares and see if threre is a correlation over the centuries etc.

Learn to control sunspots.

The problem, though, is that controlling sunspots is simply impossible with out current technology. Stopping global warming is not necessary, because global warming is a part of the natural course of the earth's climatic timeline. Don't buy in to the fear mongers telling you that half of earth will be under water. I would bet a lot of money that we will not see the day, nor will the next few generations. Furthermore, it's unstoppable, because it's cauzed by sunspots, which are out of human control. Furthermore, people, humans need to learn to adapt to changes like that.

If I believed that it was caused by car emissions and pollution, then I'd say stop driving, but there are much better reasons to stop driving, like, say, driving is lazy and it funds greedy corporate monopolizing globalists! But it does not cause global warming. Sunspots cause global warming.

In the 1400's the UK was much warmer. They could grow grapes there and Greenland had farms. The weather is always changing.

The people who are trying to predict the weather 80 years in the future are the same people that can't predict the weather next week.

This last winter we were supposed to have a more severe huricane season. We had a very mild season. The Northeast part of the US was supposed to have a warm winter. Ask all those people in New York and Pennsylvania about their mild winter.

In the 40's the earth was hotter than it is now (in the US we had the dust bowl).

Now, Al Gore is making a large income, and keeping his large ego inflated with his global warming hype.

30 years from now, they will be saying that we have global cooling. Al Gore will take credit for ending global warming.

The earth is 4.5 billion years old. Life has been around for 3.5 billion years. Man has been around for 1 million years. After humans kill off themselves, the earth will continue with warming and cooling cycles.

That is the inconvienient truth.

Im sorry but I think everyone here miss the true answer, what about the ozone layer, and carbon dioxide emissions? Carbon Dioxide traps heat, and cfc's deplete the natural chemistry of the ozone cycle. So even though fossil fuels may not really be a big deal, given the size of the earth, these politicians just MIGHT have a valid point. The emissions from cars and factories DO chemically alter the chemistry of the air, and theyve caused the ozone to be unable to replace itself.....

The only way to stop global warming is to remove human beings from the face of the earth. Humans are the sole contributors to global warming. Proof being, look how long and how well the planet survived until we came along.
