the parcel was ordered and i stated it to be left behind my shed if i wasnt home but instead it was taken to my neighbour on a small pallet and left outside her door.when i looked at the invoice it was printed the instructions i had required .so therfore i feel it is the responsabilty of the company to replace it as i cannot claim from my visa because it was left unattended. My neighbour is also a 70 yr old lady........ thanks

I should explain to the company who sold you the item. They will probably give you a replacement. Don't be aggressive early in negotiations - I've found it counter-productive.

I'm sure you have a case. On the off-chance that you need to get heavy later make sure the theft is reported to the police.

I had a parcel left (supposedly) on my back step, all I did was contact the courier to say it wasn't there and also informed the company I had purchased from.
I had to fill out a form sent to me by the sender of the parcel and after 2 weeks I got my original order sent back out.
The main thing is to keep chasing them everyday until you get a response from them. Parcels should not be left on the outside of property's and must be signed for unless otherwise instructed by you, even if the instruction is to leave it with a neighbour they still must obtain a signature.
Hope this helps.

If the company delivering the parcel received a signature then they will contest that they are exempt of responsibility because the person signing has then accepted responsibility for the item.
If there was no signature on the delivery note then you should be entitled to a full refund from the delivery company!

Contact the courier and create hell with them. I had a very similar thing happen to me with the Parcel force - they left a huge box right outside my house of business stock - the worse thing was they signed for it in my name!! how dare they - anyone could have taken my parcel but thankfully didn't. I was livid. You need to claim compensation from them.

As you haven't signed for it just phone up the company and say it has not been received and deny all knowledge of the invoice.
