I am curious to know more about animals pre-cognitive abilities to pick up on suttle signs before a catastrophy occurs? I heard before the tidal wave struck Southeast Asia that animals were uncomfortable and possibly 'knew' something bad was coming. Is there a study that has been done on this, or a scientific term given to animals that can tell when weather is coming before humans know what is coming?

There have been studies with various animals regarding this and the belief that they can possibly even sense vibrations in the ground that warn them of up coming earthquakes and tidal waves. Also that they can even sense changes in the atmosphere warning them of changes in the weather(Like storms and such).

There is no doubt that animals are more "in tune" with events around them than people are. But I still don't know if I would call it a sixth sense. I don't know of any studies that have proven that. To me it just seem like their original 5 senses are probably just much stronger than that of humans.
