i want to know how much money i would need to open a dance club with stocked bar dj maybe restaurant . . . also where in california would be better for me to place the club near la would be better for me!!!

Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* How to Setup and Operate a Successful Nightclub: An Entrepreneur's Guide to Running a Profitable Club Operation by Robert Smith
* Start Your Own Bar and Tavern (Entrepreneur Magazine's Start Ups) by Entrepreneur Press
* Bar and Club Design by Bethan Ryder
* Upstart Guide Owning & Managing Bar or Tavern by Roy S. Alonzo

The first dilema is, how much you got to spend??? The second is finding a liquor license, typically people buy used liquor licneses and even those can run, if I remember correctly 75k-100k or soemthing like that. There are only a certain amounts of liquor licenses that are distributed by the governent every year or so. Then, LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION... you want a place that is a "hot spot" so you're going to have to pay big bucks for it, then you have to find your local liqor and wine distributor, because Bud and Miller just aren't going to cut it. Those are the easy finds....that should keep you busy for a little while....
