Abuja is Nigeria's Capital (Since 1991). Former Capital was Lagos.

Before his Assasination in February 1976, The then Head-of-State of Nigeria General Murtala Mohammed chose this location as the nation's future Capital. The idea was to move the seat of power to a central location that was further inland, rather than coastal Lagos. It was both a strategic and political decision.

Abuja also known as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), is probably Africa's most beautiful city. You should see it!!!
