It has to be something that has a major impact on the world today. Others in my class (senior college) are doing guns, body piercings, tatoos, gangsta rap, faith based music/ movies, etc. I want one one that will impress the instructor and myself .

1. The internet! These are what it offers, and what other long-standing areas have been affected......
● general source of information → libraries
● e-mail → post (snail mail)
● chatrooms → socialising
● IMs → cellphone texting
● IMs with voice → phone calls
● Online clubs (e.g. Yahoo Groups) → conventional club membership
● wikipedia → conventional encyclopedias
● online purchasing → high street stores (travel agents, hardware stores etc.)
● online foreign dictionaries, translators etc. → international communication
● online radio → conventional radio
2. There are many more examples that I am sure you can think of, and, for that reason, I have deliberately left out some obvious ones. In general the home computer with internet access has revolutionised our lives; it has given us access to information that was previously beyond our reach, and has enabled us to do things that were previously in the hands of professionals.
