Why are Republicans pro-life only while it's in the womb, they are also pro war, and pro death penalty?

I know this question isn't for me because I am not a Republican nor I am a pro-lifer...but I have to pipe in after hearing some of these weak attempts (from the answerers) to reconcile these political contradictions.

This issue more than any other issue sheds light on the hypocrisy of the conservative right, they do not value life that is evident in all their actions; forget their words.

When real solutions are applied to help reduce the amount of abortions that take place and not that "abstinence" rhetoric, than we will see people in fact practicing both pro choice and pro life for one single outcome less abortions and maybe even the eradication of them except in the life and death case or rape (that should always be left to a women's choice in such a situation.)

And Susi you sound like a commercial for conservative talk radio " NO ONE IS PRO WAR! But, given the situations politically at certain times, war is necessary" the same goes with abortion NO ONE WANTS TO HAVE AN ABORTION but given certain situations and at time that is the necessary choice.

You conservatives (obviously not the gentleman that asked this question, but the hypocrites that answered) need to put you heart where your mouth is and if you care so much about life and babies that have no chance for success in this world start making other options so readily available to women and start helping with the un-wanted babies that are already here.

And leave the politics out of women's bodies! I am sick of it.

cruzerman -- so. I take it, you are pro-war. Do you enjoy seeing mothers and children being destroyed by war, cruzerman -- do you want to live in war? If not, why does your government create a war over there? Are your people, who continue that lie that you are the greatest country in the world believe it is right to believe that blowing the Z)%&* out of a place, full of life, is a God ordaned event? Hey, put Bushwhacker on the back burner for a moment and think about your attitude through the past 150 years. Has your country ever given back for it;s mistakes? I suggest. if the civil war in Iraq ever ends that America helps re-build Iraq, fot the Iraqis, by spending the amount spent on the destruction of Iraq for the re-building of Iraq. I mean a real effort to let Iraqis to re-build their lives, as much as they can, without the shame of having Americans push them out of the way as if they are second class people with dreams and hopes.

Thats a really stupid comparison. Pro-life is all about protecting the precious lives of the unborn innocent children, Republicans are not necessarily pro-war, but are intent on protecting our families and country, even if that means war. Most of the children in Iraq are being killed by their own people who are so intent on killing us they place no value on the lives of their own children, the children that are killed by our soldiers are unfortunately killed because they were placed in harms way by their own people, again. We even give them warning many times that we are coming to a certain town and do they get the children out, NO. So don't blame Republicans or our soldiers for that. The blame lies squarely on the terrorists. And finally Yes, a lot of Republicans are pro death penalty. It you would check you would find it is even biblical. Why would anyone want to let someone live that has murdered. If you had an 8 year old daughter and found out she was raped, beaten and the tortured to death by some sadistic animal, you would have to be crazy to not want that animal put to death to stop even the most remote chance that they would ever get out of prison to do something like that again.

Conservatives care about children (even though I am an Independent) I have no problem making sure every child in America has food and health care. I don't want to pay for health care and free food for the parents that are to lazy, drunk or high to work. They can starve for all I care. That does not mean we should not fight those that are trying to kill us . I have a friend that is a Iraqi shitte living near Baghdad, I worry about her every day, and now I have not heard from her in a month. I do not like to see innocent people killed in war either, but when they start slaughtering us what do you want to do, sing Kum By Ya to them?

why not take a good look at your question instead of ranting? NO ONE IS PRO WAR! But, given the situations politically at certain times, war is necessary. RE; the death penalty...Why should everyones' taxes pay for some convicted killer, rapist, cop killer to live in a place with 3 squares daily? Because they don't really see that we are all souls, and part of the whole which is God. They think we are only worthy when we are innocent, and they think that we are only innocent when we are in the womb. They don't even care enough about the children after they are born to take care that their needs are met. And once we are adults, they don't care at all, its like if some of us can't take care of ourselves as well as others tuff $h*t. Adult life really means nothing to them unless it is their own life, or the life of their families. They are also very vengeful, and judgmental against those who have made mistakes. They don't see that two wrongs don't make a right, and some of those who have been convicted of murder are innocent. There have been many killed unjustly and it was only after the fact that innocence was proven! War is never necessary!
