i have DIVX player..even tried on it..
dont knw which codec to install..i have DIVx codec installed..dont knw whether it is an older version..earlier i could play avi files..dont knw when the problem started..tried in QuickTime,Real Player,WMP,Xing,etc..

If you're getting some video and it freezes, you might have a performance problem. Your hardware might not be able to play video at the required 30 frames per second. You might try installing updated codecs for the video or even try a new player like Zoom player or DIVX player.
