Possibly flexing their muscles. Is it a coincidence that the price of oil went up as a result of this? And the West is meeting this weekend to discuss sanctions against Iran.

The seizure of 15 British soldiers was a diversion to shift focus from Iran's enrichment of uranium.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad abruptly canceled his planned trip to New York to address the U.N. Security Council. This move was a further diversion to shift focus from Iran's enrichment of uranium. The U.N. voted to expand sanctions on Iran and gave it 60 more days to stop enrichment of uranium.
A strike group led by the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis recently joined a similar force in the Persian Gulf led by the carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. Furthermore, the French nuclear carrier Charles de Gaulle and its task force met up with the USS John C. Stennis last Wednesday.
U.S. and British officials said a boarding party from the frigate HMS Cornwall was seized about during a routine inspection of a merchant ship inside Iraqi territorial waters near the disputed Shatt al-Arab waterway.
The seizure of two Royal Navy inflatable boats took place just outside the mouth of the Shatt al-Arab waterway, a 125-mile channel dividing Iraq from Iran. Its name means Arab Coastline in Arabic, and Iranians call it Arvandrud - Persian for Arvand River. A 1975 treaty recognized the middle of the waterway as the border.
Iranians send arms to Iraqi extremists, including sophisticated roadside bombs. This week, two commanders of an Iraqi Shiite militia told The Associated Press in Baghdad that hundreds of Iraqi Shiites had crossed into Iran for training by the elite Quds force, a branch of Iran's Revolutionary Guard thought to have trained Hezbollah guerrillas in Lebanon.

It's an excuse in the process of being manufactured. The Americans know the world is watching them closely after all the lies about Iraq, so they can't provoke Iran. Instead, they are getting their gullible friends in Downing Street to do their dirty work.
The British guys were in Iranian waters, on the pretext of searching a cargo vessel. In reality, they were probably just sitting there waiting to be picked up by Iranians.
Then they can kick up a fuss about the Iranians obstructing the British in their law-enforcement duties and it gets the Americans one step closer to their goal of unleashing billions of dollars of weapons on Iran (which Cheney and friends in the arms industry will happily resupply the army with).
One more thing: Ahmedinejad never said that he thought that Israel should be "wiped off the map". This was just a misrepresentation by the US govt. of a speech he made about the oppressiveness of Zionism; what he actually said was that the Israeli regime (Zionism) should be wiped from the pages of history. Another thing altogether. But it's not enough to justify starting a war with Tehran, is it?
It looks like Gary Davis' 23 years being shafted in the showers and yelled at in the Royal Navy has softened what is left of his brain and eliminated his critical thinking faculties. Not happy with selling his soul for 23 years of blind obedience on the seas, he's now relinquishing any further chance for free, independent thought by entering the kiddy-fiddling world of the Christian church. Oh dear. Just because it's on the BBC, petal, doesn't make it fact.

The marines stuffed up and got caught, this is going to be a career changer for those men especially the officers . This is a huge military and political coup for the Iranians and they will maximise their position.
This one will drag on for a while, particulaly since Russia has told Iran it will no longer supply them Uranium while they continue their enrichment program.
Lets not forget that the Iranians got a bloody nose when their embassy in London was stormed by the SAS in '88, they certainly wont have forgotten.

Oh dear, seems Stealthbong's been over-indulging his braincell-killing habit. The Naval personnel were picked up by the Iranians in IRAQI waters! Try watching the news instead of looking it up on "Conspiracy Theories 'R' Us" or "America the Great Satan . org". I suspect it does have something to do with with Iranian troops picked up in Iraq, but they clearly feel they can play a game of brinkmanship with the US & UK: hope they don't miscalculate.
PS: - for all you "Arafat was a lovely man" believers, check out the rest of the events in virtually all Arab lands over the last 60-80 years: also check out the word "Dhimmi" and who was subject to this. Check what not only the Koran, but als the "Hadith", the sayings of Mohammed, say about "infidels", including Jews & Christians: THEN look again at the motivation and inspiration for every terrorist attack by Moslems in history.
Edit: Actually, Stealthbong, I don't usually watch the Beeb -- far to left-wing liberal, haters of Israel and supporters of all things Islamic. As for "kiddie-fiddling" because I'm a Christian; well, that has nothing whatsoever to do with Christianity. Yes, they do exist within churches, particularly when an unscriptural celibacy is forced on the priesthood by the Vatican (RC's only) (Peter was married). However, for every priest there are dozens of atheist, drug-addled paedo's out there: just look at the statistics from courts and prisons. If you use the "...damned lies, and statistics" argument, then you can't win anyway as you're basing your argument on your own mental statistics.
I pray you'll at least be open-minded enough to listen to good, honest Christians and their arguments. Three websites for you to check out:
www.christiananswers.net
www.thebereancall.org
www.lightforthelastdays.co.uk
The Berean call website welcomes questions from anyone who'll e-mail them. Give these sites a go; what do you have to lose? Nothing: except your soul if you ignore Christ's free gift of salvation and eternal life.

They are all very cocky and feel they can provoke us at this time due to the situation in Iraq and the fighting going on in Parliament and Congress. Iran has underestimated the resolve of America and Great Britain. They are asking for war and the camel crowd will get it. Isn't it stupid to provoke us to war? Look what happened to Iraq when they spit in our face. This could blow the country of Iran into tiny pieces and then perhaps they can form a more liberal constitution?

Many effectual international places have fallen in turbulent cases. The victors do not inevitably might desire to matter on weaponry. the classic Greeks, Romans and Egyptians had subdued their enemies by using conflict suggestions and had for this reason governed extensive tracts of land. They themselves capitulated because of the two inner and exterior components which includes ethical decay, treachery, disunity, desperate invading forces and over-stretching of supplies. Like many as quickly as reliable international places such because of fact the united kingdom, France, Germany and Turkey, the US have been invaded formerly and prepared on the help of distant places forces. that's a mistake to assume that that's immune from any intrusion.in terms of length, inhabitants and subculture, India and China are larger or extra stepped forward, yet that they have been attacked and plundered. the US had the biggest and maximum state-of-the-artwork arsenal of weaponry interior the Vietnam conflict; it became compelled to retreat in a rush, leaving thousands and thousands of persons interior the arms of the badly equipped yet extra persevering Vietcong. inspite of its militia might, it has did not quell riot in Afghanistan and Iraq. What did the 9/11 horror permit you recognize? It needless to say confirmed that the US became and nonetheless is susceptible. The Pearl Harbour catastrophe additionally shown that the worldwide's maximum effectual army must be attacked by using a smaller usa. that's in no way the toughest usa interior the worldwide for invasion. Like China, India and the former u.s., that's massive with assailable territories open to a ask your self offensive. Malaysia, then suggested as Malaya under the British rule, became invaded not by using fighter planes and submarines yet by using eastern infantrymen driving bicycles! What had exceeded off to the so-suggested as superpowers and reliable conquerors like Russia under its tzars, the Roman empire, the Ottomans and Germany under Hitler? They fell one by using one. history shows that not a single usa, not even an all-effectual one, can get away an invasion while its foes are bent on doing it. the US isn't unfastened from it.
