Starting in spring, I probably work in my flowerbeds at least an hour a day. Some days more. I probably enjoy it at least an hour or more a day most days after it is warm enough to sit on my deck. I have a swing and I take a cup of coffee out and read a magazine or just sit there and take in the beauty. Sometimes I get another cup of coffee and continue or get out and walk around checking the growth of various plants. I even enjoy the work.

"Private oasis" beautiful terminology! Flower beds, have 5, working on more, spend an hour or 2 per day in them, watering, deadheading, weeding. Veggie garden the same. Reserve potting new "kids" for weekends, easy to devote the entire 2 days off to that. Good therapy. Just enjoy the gardens every time I look at them! Ain't dirt grand?

Being semi-retired I can devote 24/7 to my many gardens. If I'm not planning, working on or simply admiring what the almighty and I have done, I'm dreaming about it ! RScott

well right now, i'm spending ALOT of time inthe flower beds. the previous owners let everything grow over, so i'm weeding right now...not much planting b/c around here we don't plant till April 15th, when the threat of frost is finally over. so right now about 4-5 hours per day...during planting, 3-4/day, and after everything is planted 1-2 hours/day.
