Well the term Caucasians comes from the region near the Caucasus Mountains in western Asia. The most common feature of this racial group is the sharp features of the face and mostly deep set eyes. As for the color of the skin there is a difference between AMERICAN social meaning of Caucasian and the actual scientific racial term. In the American social definition, it refers to the people of European decent generally lighter in skin.
The actual and correct scientific definition refers to a wide group of people who decent from people living in modern day northern India to western Europe. All these people, central asians, middle eastern, as well as eurpean are caucasians and most generally refered to as the Indoeuropean ( indo aryan is another group)) group because one group of people went eastwards towards india and the other towards europe , both originating from the same region in Asia.
