Proof: Happens everyday where I work my second job. Many walk in and buy food on welfare, then spend $50 on lottery tickets. Or they buy $30 to $100 worth of liquor and cigarettes. So yes, I DO see this everyday. Pretty hard to stomach for someone who works two jobs instead of asking for a hand out.

I do help the people on welfare, EVERY paycheck I help. I could worry more about myself if I didn't have to work two jobs to support OTHER people and not my family!

Welfare is far from a perfect system. I known people who live in Government Housing driving Lexus'. Yes, it's B.S for those of us supporting these people. It does a lot of good for the small percentage of people that really need it and don't take advantage but what can yaou do about the rest? Nothing. All you can do is do the best you can for yourself and have pride.

1) you assume they do but offer no evidence. hence you're begging the question.
2) even if someone spent an astronomical amount of money on those three I can't imagine it coming to more than a hundred dollars a month. I mean, that's like 2 cartons, 6 six packs, and god knows how many lottery tickets. if someone is on welfare, then $100 a month less spending is not going to get them off of welfare. so the answer to your question is yes, they would still likely need welfare even if they stopped spending on those things
However, since you've given me no evidence to think they do spend on those things, then we can't even get to step 2 and are merely stuck on the begging the question charge that you must get around.

Yea he's right one reason I'm an independent I hate republicans but when it comes to welfare I disagree with most democrats. Welfare should only be available for people who have small children and the elderly. Those that did not get an education deserve what they get. I work at a Food Lion grocery store part time while I go to school and see it all the time

I got a shocker for ya:
Years ago, I worked at a fast food restaurant, I was the Drive thru Queen.
A car pulled up, a nice BMW, BRAND NEW with leather seats. The gentleman driving wore gold chains and gold nugget rings. His wife was covered in jewelry, and they all wore LARGE brand name clothing.
He handed me a $100 bill, couldn't take it because no large bills after sundown. Then, he tried an American Express card. Nope, sorry, credit cards. Then he tried to hand me food stamps! :O
I couldn't believe it.
This place is a mess!

Try worrying about yourself first, then you could try and help the individuals on welfare!

Do you know that they have money for these things, or are you presuming based on "someone told me" or "I saw on tv"? And even if they do have money for such things, why would someone on welfare need to be totally destitute for aid? My guess is you wouldn't allow others to be so judgmental of your life, why are you so judgmental on theirs?
