Nursing hands down the better option. You will make more money and can work with children if you wish, and if that becomes annoying you can switch to another specality, dont pigeon hole yourself, you deserve to make good money

Nursing wins, flat out! Pay is waaay better. Plus, the best part is the optional 3-day work week. Three 12 hour days = full time, leaving you with a 4-day weekend every week! AND if for some extremely unfrotunate reason you were really strapped for cash, you could always pick up an equivalent nursing job (3-day) at a second hospital in you spare time. This would provide you with the salary of two full time nurses and you would still have a day off to rest! =)

I'd say combine your love of both. If you like working with children, but want an actually rewarding (monetarily) career, go into pediatric care. That's doctors and nurses dealing with children.
In the end though, you need to weigh the options. For nursing you need to go to college. That costs money. But anyone in the medical field is going to make money so...
If you choose Childcare, you don't have to go to school for it. You can pretty much go right into a childcare facility (i.e. a Daycare), hand them a resume, and have a job (provided you pass the background check). The drawback... you don't make a huge paycheck.

childcare is very noisy. if you love kids and can handle them all day every day do that. nursing is very disgusting at times. if you can put up with blood and bodily waste do that
