Definatley Lynard Skynard. Who couldnt love a band that wrote such great songs as Sweet Home Alabama and Freebird? Great band and great music.

I'm a big Sweet fan. Most people remember them as being very "poppy" and lightweight, but their late-70's stuff, particularly the albums tracks, were very heavy. Sadly, only two members of the band are still alive.

This may sound odd but my favorite band from the 70's is RUSH followed by Kool and the Gang.
I grew up in RPV California (richies who hate black girls) but I had a few friends and they were into classic rock and I got them into R&B...
