I have the ambition to get really buff. I went to the gym on Wednesday and I felt my muscles a bit sore. I was told by a trainer there that since it was the first day, I should wait 48 hours until returning to the gym so the muscles could rest.

Today and yesterday I went out and played Road Hockey, for the first time in a long time (Since the days are getting better-Srping) and now my arms are completely hurting; using muscles I haven't used in a long time.

I want to go to the gym tomorrow but I feel really sore, should I go or wait longer? But I think back to the saying...

"No pain no gain"

it is better to let your arm muscle rest for at aleast 24 hours. If you keep working them, they eill breakdown and stop growing. You muscle need to rest in order to grow stronger. If you want to go the gym, try to down lower part body workout such as legs, or do 30 minute cardio.

You have the ambition to get really buff.
You ended up with sore musles.
A trainer told you to give your musles a rest.
You played road hockey.
You should wait longer while your doing that, look around you more than likely you'll see a younger kid who can't do what you can.
He might be Disabled,or without an arm or leg for one reason or another, but while your resting your muscles, you might get permission to show him your gym or play some easy games with him.
I promise you that the next time you workout in full you and your muscles will feel alot better.
