HELP, I have spent 3 weeks downloading stuff into my sims 2 game. Now my downloads file is GONE!!!!?

I've spent about 3 weeks downloading a crap load of stuff into my Sims 2 game. Well today I was finishing up my last few downloads and I went to go to my C:\Documents and Settings\Christina Dohm\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads (my Downloads folder). And it was all GONE, there where 3 items left in the folder. I have not even touched the folder today. The only think I did was extracted zip files to it. I've only been on the computer for about 2 hours today. Last night before I went to bed I looked at it and everything was good. I even made a backup zip file last night. But when I open the zip file nothing is there eather. What could be going on....someone PLEASE help me. It's not in my bin eather.

I don't think my computer has a system restore point.

Launch the game and see if your downloads are still incorporated.

Note that most of your SIMS2 changes will be done in your My Documents/EA Games folder.

Check there for any changes.

If there is no success in the above suggestions, perhaps try a system restore to yesterday. The last download may have been a bad one..
