I get so sick and tired of some of the Yankees fans who think their Yankeees are gods of the baseball world.Maybe this question (If it is objectively answered)will knock them down a peg or two.

the biggest choke is when the Yankee's lost to the Red Sox leading 3-0 and NY has choke in the playoffs the past 6 years. They just can't get it done! They have all the talent in the world but they cant close games anymore...

Lets not forget the '64 Phils blowing a 6 game lead with 2 weeks left in the season. Some attributed this to manager Gene Mauch fiddling with the Phils rotation so it would be at its best for the start of the WS. Apparently, this 'trying to fix what wasnt broke' cost the Phils the chance to go to the dance. It also gave baseball its first post season look at a kid named Bob Gibson as St. Louis ended up facing the Yankees in the big show that year.

answered objectively from a non bosox or nyy fan, yes, the 3-0 choke in alcs was a bigger choke than the '86 meltdown. although it was more fun to see the bosox completely unravel just an out away and 2 runs up.
also objectively, the yankees are the gods of the baseball world. their record over the years in every single era is unreal. their "dryspells" from '61-'77 and the current one since '00 makes all other teams jealous. my beloved cubbies streak is one a bosox fan can sympathize with.
even with the title in '04, boston is still the poster child for painful defeat and heartbreak. '04 was great for them, and for baseball in general, but it would take decades to do anything that would knock the yankees down a peg.

The Yankees in the '04 ALCS. No other team in baseball history has lost a 7-game series being up 3-0. It's only happened two other times in sports, and both times in the NHL playoffs. I don't remember when exactly, but you could look it up.

Of course, my beloved Red Sox have to have the most and most memorable collapses in baseball history.

In Recent history I would have to say that the Yankees losing to the Red Sox after having a 3 game lead in the Series. I am a Yankee fan and could not believe my eyes

It was definitely the Yankees. The only team to lose the series after being up 3-0! That is the smallest bite you could possibly choke on. I loved it!

it was the Yankees of '04. Up 3-0 and winning game 3 19-8. No one has ever come back from 0-3, so this is the obvious choice.

The New York Yankees, 2004 edition. they were up 3 ganes to none against the Boston Red Sox in the ACLS and the Sox came back to win 4 in a row to beat them and then went on to win the World Series against the Cardianls.

Yankees hands down. 3 game lead on the Red Sox in the ALCS only to lose 4 straight.

Don't pick Danny a, cause he can't get his facts straight.

I will admit, the Yanks did choke, but it wasn't the biggest ever. Try the California Angels vs. BoSox in 86. Halos were 1 strike away from the WS, and they blew it.

We r the gods of baseball buddy, get used 2 it, because u should have already.
