What's the whole purpose behind "Mail Order Brides" ?

I just wondered why American men fly over 3,000 miles to pick up their bride that they've only seen in a catalog.

cause they can get an exotic little woman who will cook, clean, and do housework, and she can't speak english enough to do anything else. Basically a little slave of their own.

Obviously because they have something against American women, or more of an interest in foreign ones.

Maybe this is just me, but some of these guys sound like pigs. They want a fertile, submissive woman to attend to all of their personal and sexual needs without the independence or aggression of American women. With a third world country, the men are saviors "lifting" these women out of poverty and giving them a chance of U.S. citizenship, which is the only obviously good part.

I'm sure that this is not true for all of them and that many of these relationships work out well. But there is a lot of exploitation on both sides when you select women based on their looks from a catalog, as if you were window shopping at a clothing store. How many of these marriages actually work out? Buyer beware.

I think the men who do this have different reasons. But, if I had to choose what I think the the top reasons are, they would be:

1. Extreme fear of rejection (or have experienced great rejections from women in America)

2. They don't want to bother with relationships

3. They would like to have power over someone else (sexually or otherwise)

Because the men are somehow defective and no-one wants them! If you can't communicate with some one because of language differences, I guess you're less likely to have a perosnality clash. And often these women live in countries where the qaulity of life is not quite so high, so they will show gratitude to the men.

They usually correspond for some time by mail and phone first. It's not like getting a bride from a vending machine.

I always thought the bride flew over to America to escape poverty and find a better life here after ditching her husband.

They get married, the guys clothes never hit the floor, the woman is dynamite in bed, then after a year, and a kid, they divorce the guy, get citizenship in the U.S., and a pay check from the guy once a month (alimony), and hand the money off to their "PIMP" in the "Russian Mob", in "Brighton Beach", Brooklyn.

Because some cannot possibly find wives here in America and it's easier to basically "buy" one instead of going through the process of woo-ing one and getting her to marry you.
