The tampon can only go so far. Your cervix is closed TIGHT so it's just inside your vagina. HOWEVER you do need to go to the doctor and have it removed because it can set up major infection. If your embarassed to tell them about it then use the excuse I USED:
I'm having major sinus trouble and took some night time formula medicine to help with the congestion and when i got up to pee in the middle of the night i was so groggy that i forgot i put a tampon in and i put another in and pushed the first one way in there.
Yeah---I've been there and it sucks. If you haven't tried squatting down and trying to reach it then do that, you can reach further in when you squat. Good Luck.

You'll need to see a doctor - your own or the ER doc -
who can remove it for you. It can be quite dangerous
with high risk of infection to leave the tampon in.
DO NOT place another tampon in the vagina until
the first one has been removed. We see this every
now and then in the ED. Try to get to a doctor in the
next couple of days to have it removed - it's like
having a pelvic exam done, but a little more
uncomfortable.

You need to see a doctor quickly, they can remove it for you! In the tampon's defense, when you insert it, you're not supposed to shove the whole casing in there and THEN release it. Or if it's those OB ones, same thing, don't push it so far up. I always do a "safety check" just before putting it in: I tug on the string to make sure it is sewn in properly.

The use of these devices has occasionally caused serious health related issues, such as infection and even death in rare cases (see Toxic shock syndrome).
Toxic shock syndrome (TSS) is a rare but potentially fatal disease caused by a bacterial toxin. Different bacterial toxins may cause toxic shock syndrome, depending on the situation. The causative agent is Staphylococcus aureus. A similar condition, called Toxic Shock Like Syndrome (TSLS), is the result of Streptococcus pyogenes infection. TSLS is also referred to as Streptococcal TSS.

In sex ed I got told you can not lose a tampon. Firstly their is something blocking it from going right up, secondly the cord is so strong that it won't break unless you're dumb enough to cut it off before you put it up there.
Don't wait for us to answer if you have done that. Go to the hospital and get it out.

You have to fish it out with your fingers or get someone else to do it, if you cannot ..... Don't ever let it go that long without removing it ... in fact I think you should go to a doctor immediately if it has been two days.... they will have some very simple equipment they can use to extract it.
I have a nurse friend.. you will be surprised what they have to fish out from time to time... so yours is a very normal problem by comparison.

This happened to me once. Try squatting and then attempting to get it out. But if a tampon remains in for more than 8 hours you can get toxic shock syndrome. THIS KILLS PEOPLE!!!!!!!!! So if its been in that long you need to go to the ER or a doctor even if you get it out and definately if you cant get it out.

What you're able to do is have you ever boyfriend examine, he has longer hands and might attain much less complicated. If he does not experience something then do not challenge. yet while he does, you may bypass to the scientific medical doctors to get it bumped off.

Use your fingers and reach up in there it has no where to go. If you still can't get it out go to the doctor to get it out ASAP. There is a risk of developing an infection called toxic shock syndrome if you leave them up there for too long and two days is too long.

you gotta just put your hand up there (after washing it well) and fish the tampon out. if you are unable to get it, go to the doctor. it may be a little embarrassing, but it'll solve the problem.
