in my opinion the law is really inplace to deter any form of anarchy. No matter what civilization we are referring to, there
will always be and has always been crime. It begins with the
economic chasm between the powerful and the powerless(economically). It's human nature to want what someone else has and if the poor cannot afford it, it's only a matter of time before they take it.. Once behavior like this is rewarded without punishment it will grow into every imaginable vice, (ie
criminal addictive behavior).

Without laws, rules and regulations, "do's and don'ts " the world would be in constant chaos. Without laws it would be acceptable to kill anyone you got mad it and there would be no repercussions. unqualified people would be working jobs because they lied on their job application, misrepresented themselves, and cheated. People would be working jobs that had no idea what they were doing. Want to go to a Doctor, Lawyer, mechanic,(I could go on) like that? Without laws, a person could drive whatever speed they wanted, go the wrong way on a one way street, safety and caution would be thrown to the wind. There would be no need for police because there would be no laws and rules to enforce. What kind of society would that be? We have laws in place now and look at the problems we have. What would life be like with no laws? I don't think I want to know.

Laws are meant to create order. Order is necessary so that individuals in the society know what is acceptable or unacceptable behavior and they hopefully stay in the bounds of acceptable behavior. The members know that if they do not stay in those bounds that there will consequences of varying severity in response to their inappropriate actions. Those consequences act as deterrents but also are meant to further remind the individual not to repeat the action or behavior. The consequences also reinforce to others what will happen to them should they engage in such action or behavior.

Well just an idea:
Laws are usually based off of morals. Morals is what keeps us from randomly killing our neighbor and stealing everything.
Crime itself is when a person believes they have no other option and leaves the morals behind (or temporarily ignores them) to get what they believe they need.
If the laws were to disappear, morals would slowly fade away.
