I have to admit it was a little slow and if you have come to know some actors such as Bernie Mac to be a comedian, you might be disappointed, but he is not funny in this movie - well he has some comedic parts - but to answer your question, I would have to give the ending away and I would not want to spoil that for others who want to see the movie. The story is based on some African American youth who learned to swim and then compete with environments outside of their community. There, they experienced prejudice and elements of racism, but they learned a greater lesson - being a team and working together makes the team a complete unit. They learned a lesson about pride, and self-worth. To me, that was the greatest part of the film.
