If the Oregon Ducks win the NCAA championship will they finally get the respect they deserve from all the ESPN commentators?
Or so you think they will always be crapped on?
Personally I am alumni, And why do these teams like Notre Dame and Duke get so much respect when they never amount to anything anymore? When Will the PAC - 10 finally get the respect EARNED?

i too am a duck and no they never will be given any credit for either football or basketball in fact when the ducks do win the national title it probably wont even make sports center. the national media hates the ducks and beavers for that matter and will never give them the recognition they deserve. but thats good in a way cause it makes it easier to sneek up on the poor bastards that we have to play...lol

Although it's not happening, I will answer this from past experience.
Last year for the Gators, with us living in Buffalo, we saw exactly 3 GAMES THE ENTIRE REGULAR SEASON, and one because it was against Syracuse.
The UF/George Mason game was not being shown in lieu of...get this...a 7-0 blowout that the Sabres were suffering. Every single tv at buffalo wild wings was on that damn game. FINAL FOUR, their team is getting blown off the ice, and they wouldn't change it.
THIS year after the championship, ESPN showed more regular season games, though not by much. HOWEVER, yahoo used them a lot to showcase their Yahoo sports video. I honestly can't say how often the Ducks have been on there, but at least THAT was a lifesaver, and this year instead of 3 games, we got to see pretty much the entire SEC schedule, the SEC tourney and a few others. CBS carried some SEC games, but not much. We did get to see the OSU game, which was east coast/national for obvious reasons.
Ergo, on the offchance 0.00000005% you guys win this, yes, more than likely someone will at least give you some respect as far as the viewing, but even with Florida up until a bit ago, it was still all duke this, NC that, ND this. A lot of ESPN folks were picking against us up until a bit ago.
They tend to "bandwagon" a lot, though.

As a big UCLA fan, I agree with you. If USC had hung on and won tonight, 3 of the Elite Eight teams would be from the Pac-10. Still, I think the Pac-10 showed itself as the strongest conference this year. I actually believe high school players are looking at the Pac 10 schools more now.Just look at Duke and Kentucky and how they seem to have dropped off in the recruiting. Go Bruins! Go Ducks!

Notre Dame gets love beacause of Digger and only because of Digger. But Duke? Before this year they've been to the sweet sixteen or farther for 8 or 9 years straight. They deserve respect. I agreee the PAC 10 doesn't get the respect they deserve. Oregon is good, UCLA is good, but they won't win it all. The winner of Florida vs. KU semifinal will win it all.

Florida, ironically also a three seed, was hardly given any credit or recognition prior to winning the title last year. I certainly think winning a title turns the critics around. Same thing happened with Maryland five years ago and no one paid attention to anyone else in the ACC besides UNC and Duke.
