alright, so i work for my dad. basicly we sell shaved ice funnel cakes and cotton candy (business plug not intended) anyway, basicly, i work for him most times. and i work about as hard as he does. the thing im asking is that, he will MAKE me work, and then what happens is, he will not pay me. he refuses to pay. the other question i have, is that, the shaved ice machine which i work, is extremely dangerous to work, the ice block will at times fly out and hit me in my goddamn face. now the question im asking, is , is this against the law? and could i use that against him?
PS: i am only 13, going to be 14 next week, but he has been having me work like this since i was 11.

Do you want food on the table when you get home? Play his game until you are old enought to get a decent job. You don't want to get your father into trouble with the law if you really care for him. Where would the grocery's come from if he was locked up? Chill out & know that you will not be doing this the rest of your life.

If anything, this lesson should prove to you that an education is of prime importance in your young life so you won't have to be doing it all your life. Hit the books & be glad you have learned this lesson.

yaar! why are you disappointed ! you are not alone who has been abused by the parents. govt may make laws against child labour, n g o's may raise hue and cry against such practice. but this is for poor people only. see the tiny tots, just out or still from their mother's lap doing advt-mt in TV channels or working in films. no body talks about them. no body takes action against them. so why u worry. if your dad is making you work and not paying u anything, at least he is giving you food, cloth and shelter the basic need s of life.

First off the federal government requires all employers to provide a safe work place. There are labor laws that require all employers to pay workmen compensation fees, there are laws that require him to pay social security fees. and there are laws requiring him to pay minimum wages. Call the local department of labor and explain your situation
