Ornimental flowering trees have been cultivated so long that there one can buy plants with reliable flower and leaf color from a small plant. These are called cultivated varieties, or cultivars. They are cuttings from a desirable parent stock, grafted onto hardy root stock.
Another way to debunk the myth is that a tree needs to be planted on stable ground. Shallow graves settle, this would cause the tree to heave.
Lastly, trees last for decades, the body wouyld be just bones after the worms crawled in and out for a few years, no longer providing the needed enviroment for flower color.
Some species of plants will change flower color with the change of pH. Some people will plant them in a row and maintian the soil in varying degers of base to acid along the line to get a range of color form one variety of plant.

Who ever told you that was joking with you. The cherry blossums bloom as they should. There are no dead bodies buried under the ground there on, and also if there were bodies under there, whatever was there is decomposed, and has fertilized those trees many tears ago. Besides there are several cherry blossum parks in Japan. That would be alot of bodies don't you think.

hi Robert, you have in basic terms ignored it this year because of the fact the cherry blossoms have been at top bloom around April 5th. The cherry blossom season in Tokyo is often from previous due March to mid April. the final spots of viewing the gorgeous blossoms are parks, castles and alongside a river economic business enterprise.

It is the belief that good spirits inhabit the blooms of the cherry blossoms, of course these are the spirits of ancestors.

Considering the Japanese are pretty traditional in the burial of their family members I seriously doubt it.
