Think, the music that you listen to, is it because it's "cool" to listen to that music or you truly in your heart like?? Do you force yourself to listen to a type of music until you like it just so you can be accepted?? For me, I am one of the only Asians you'll ever hear about that actually admits to liking country music. . .

God No. my friends have bad bad bad taste in music lol. Seriously, my firend is utterly obsessed with Kylie Minogue. I love music that makes you think, that has lyrics that make you wish that you could write that well, and melodies that just blow you away. I'm not genre specific but I generally only like music which requires instruments (not know how music that doesn't use them can even have that classification.) BUt hey, I have pretentious taste in music, thats what everyone tells me, but at lest I get more than a momentary enjoyment out of the music I love, I get a buzz, I feel passion lol.

Oh yeah and you're not the only asian guy out there who likes country music. I answered a question a couple of months back which was asking why people think that because he's asian he shouldn't like country music, or something. Unless that was you. BUt i don't think it was.

nope they never really have either.....I grew up in the eighties and early 90s when it was apparently a good idea to be really into 80's Hair bands like Poison and Motley Crue.....no thanks....didn't like it.
I was a big Beatles fan at a very young age when everyone else my age was avoiding the music thier parents listened to like the plague.
I like what I like because I think its good....and not because its popular because I'll tell you what....I can't stand most of the "popular" music thats on the radio today...

You should listen to what you want to. I don't like country at all, but I don't hate, and I think that if that's what you want to hear, you should listen to it. My peers influence me very little on what I like. Actually, I would say I influence them, because I am always finding new things to listen to...

most people stop listening to songs because they're "old"
