Yes. My son is in grade 1. We are in Brisbane, Australia, and it is encouraged for them to have one on their desk and to drink lots of water. That's the way it should be too

And why shouldn't they? Here in North Cyprus they are allowed to do that. In fact, I was observing an English lesson in a grade 5 class on Thursday and one student asked in English: "Can I have some water please?". The teacher said, "yes of course". She took out her bottle and drank. It's quite all right. Even prisoners of war are allowed to drink water, why not kids in the classroom.

Yes if they know what is the proper use of water and not for throwing on each other or pouring the same in their books. Some times water is so essential that no body can imagine if there is sweating it can be used for wash of face if hands are dirty it can be used for washing if there is thrust it can be used for satisfying it. So water is to be allowed to children in their class room

From my point of view I believe they should because most student spend at least 7 hours in school and they do not get sufficient water throughout the day. Think about it after school they only have a few hours until they go back to sleep. Water plays an important part in our health.

In my opinion, kids should be allowed to have water bottles in class to avoid dehydration. Kids are very active and they perspire a lot. Just make sure that their water botteled are re-sealed to avoid spillage. Having their own water bottles would also lessen irritablility when they are thirsty since they can just drink when they feel like drinking.

Of course they should, I teach in a 100 year old, 3 story school. You should try being on the top floor in August. We have fans, Culligan coolers and the kids can bring whatever water they want. We usually just keep the policy throughout the year, it cuts down on kids getting up in the middle of class. Other than to pee, that is....LOL

I think they should be allowed to have water. As long as its in a secured container, like a water bottle.

Yes. I think it is ok for them to have water but not pop or food. This way they have no excuse for getting up every five minutes to go to the drinking fountain.
