The Golden Fleece was found in Caucasus mountains. Until recently they used to was gold in the rivers there by dipping the fleece of sheep in the water, hence the "golden fleece".

You mean Argonauts. And the place is Colchis, in Asia Minor (modern day Turkey)

Kolchis is in today's Armenia..they were traders golden fleece was allots of sheep..
