No, none at all. Formula is primarily for when a child is not eating anything but formula. At 1 the baby eats food and needs less milk. Too much milk can make a baby anemic. And formula has too much iron in it. As soon as the baby is one you can use cows milk, but only whole milk, no 2% or less, that is not good for baby.

If you used formula all the time and not cows milk your baby at 1 year old would be having a overload of vitamins and just like a deficiency this is not good for him/her.
One bottle of formula maybe at night is ok but during the day I would ONLY give cows milk to ensure the right amount of balance in your baby`s diet.

Yes, deffenitly, in fact it is recomended. Cows milk has very little actual nutrition aside from protein, calcium, and the fortified (added) vitamin A and D.
Toddlers don't eat a wide variety of food. They eat carrots and some cheese one meal, the next they eat a yogurt, and dinner all they do is pick at their food with 2 or 3 bites of potatoes (well a lot of the time)

Basically toddlers don't eat what adults can and should, so they really are missing out on a lot of vitamins and minerals. While solid foods at this age should be their primary source at meal times continuing with formula will enssure your child is not missing anything in their diet.

My daughter is 13 months and doesn't like cows milk so she drinks formula. I can't see it as a problem they will realise soon enough how foul formula tastes. lol. Just be careful with some toddler formula's as they can be high in sugar.

Well if you want to use formula then who is to say no but most people put a child on milk at about 8 to 10 month and with that some food but what one child takes to another may not be the same so we all just try and see. I would say just try and see what you think and not what anyone else says. you and the baby will know, I can say that I have had 3 boys and not one have been the same so you try and then you just see. If one does not fit you try the next one.

I have four kids and when the twins turned one I decided to keep them on formula for an extra 3 months, my hv also recommended this, they were premature and I thought it wouldnt do them any harm to stay on it that bit longer which it didnt. My third child was breastfed for 18 months and my fourth child is 11 months and on formula, I will also be keeping her on it after 1 as she is really tiny for her age and needs that extra vitamins, iron and fat content in formula. If you feel better keeping your little one on formula that bit longer it wont do any harm at all.

my son is 18months and still on formula, but it's mainly because he doesn't eat much meat (his choice as its always on his plate!) and even though he eats truckloads of fruit and vege's i feel happier knowing he's getting the extra nutrients.. also he has excema and asthma and i want to wait to try cows milk for a little while yet, just incase it makes a difference.. in saying that, most children on cows milk have no problem whatsoever, it just depends on what you want to do and your child :)

has better nutrients, I dont know what the chick above me is talking about but regular cow milk doesnt have half the nutrients that formula has I kept my jacob on formula till he was about 15 months cause I had extra supply but if I hadnt got it for free I would have gone to regular milk, but that change was rough on his tummy and pooped rocks for months

only calves need cow's milk. you can use Carnation formula for older babies, but it has more calories. try switching to soy, rice, or almond milk. they each have their own benefits and are a healthier alternative.
