I saw this question asked and it was resolved before I had a chance to put in my 2 cents. My opinion is, I'll watch college ball all day before I spend a minute watching NBA ball. There are a number of reasons that I like NCAA ball better than NBA ball, but it really boils down to one thing for me: in the NCAA, far more often than not, if one team outplays the other, that team will win. On rare occasions there is some obviously biased officiating, and in those cases you sometimes get an NBA-style result, where a team gets thouroughly outplayed but wins because they shoot a lot of free throws. In contrast, every NBA game has poor officiating, and it's not because the refs are biased, but rather that the league wants it that way: the superstars must be allowed to play their game without interference. Everyone in the league is playing the same game, so why do we hear "Oh, a rookie can't expect to get that call against a superstar". Why not? Aren't they playing the same game?

"I don't even have to read all that to tell you it's the NBA" Wow, that is a solid argument. Well done.

I enjoy the passion of the college game, where defense is tenacious and the play can absolutely fly up and down the court. Fans hang on every conference game like it may be the last.
The NBA highlight reel tends to be more impressive due to the superior athletes, but for a game watching experience nothing compares to the college game.

I think the NCAA is better. Mostly because of the players. Not the ones who won't stay in college and go to the NBA, but the ones that are there to play. I think the new age minimum rule is going to change NCAA some, because some players will be there just to showoff their skills for a year then leave. Also, in college players play because they love it and they think they have a chance to make it to the NBA. In the NBA the players have nothing to do except for make money.
I was kind of mad when I saw Kobe Bryant got 60some of his teams 110 points. Did he pass at all. Thr NBA is just way too commercial and it doesn't have any purpose besides entertainment so players do what they want.

You make very good points about the officiating in the NBA, but let me tell you why I prefer the NBA game better. Everyone is a professional. The game is played the right way and far less mistakes are made. I watch college games and see too many sloppy, undisciplined players out there. Not all of them of course but a lot. I like seeing the game played the right way so it hurts me to watch some of these kids try to show off or just not know what they are doing out there.

NCAA the games are just better. About the officiating I think its true if Greg Oden tired to stop Le Bron James from dunking he be called for a foul before the ball even left Jame's had. Some College players play for the love of the game but others want to be in the NBA but they are still playing there best.

No doubt the NCAA is a much more entertaining and competitiive game. The NBA is nothing but travelling and fouling and shooting. Most teams have never heard of defense. They also don't really start playing until the playoffs. The league consists of grossly overpaid thugs who have no respect for the game, the fans or themselves. I have never met, in person, anyone who would waste a single minute on the NBA, yet know for a fact that millions wait excitedly each year for March Madness.
No comparison.

if you think the big college players are playing it for love of the game or team you are an idiot...they are merely auditioning for their pro careers...they've known from the time they were 16 what they should be making, who their agent will be and what team they want to play for, as well as who they want a shoe contract with what the shoe should look like and what the first five cars they buy will be...and no they aren't playing the same game, if you treat the franchise or league star like a rookie then what difference does being the mega paid star who puts butts in the seats really mean...they are however trying to crack down on the traveling, carrying (ala MJ) and flagrant fouls...try to remember all of what is considered to be 'sport' in America is simply entertainment, and commercially sponsored diversion designed to keep your focus off of what is really important...like how pharmaceutical companies have created dependencies that overrun our society or how cancer will never get cured because of all the money it generates in health care, treatment and medication income...or how come your kid is doing dope that is shipped into this country by big business...or how your kids are going to afford their first home on 60 or 70 dimes a year...as home and property prices rise out of sight as incomes barely inch up...

its a close call for me but i gotta say the nba, the game is played at the a higher level and you see things you would never see in a college game. college is full of kids, nba are full of pros. sure they have their money and egos and what not, but it still very entertaining.
college is great too, college has a lot of parody and upsets and stuff, but i dont get as excited for a college game than an nba game.
