There are to many laws. And to many people being sent to jail for a long time for doing something dumb but definitely forgivable. I saw on TV the other day where a 17 year old got 28 years in prison for armed robbery. He was robbing a convenience store and he had a knife but he didn't try to hurt anybody he just had a knife to scare them (i saw the tape). He didn't even get the money the cashier hit him with a bat than he ran away. His life if now ruined for a dumb mistake that he made. I think the American government is to caught up with controlling people. People are scared that if they do something illegal with so many things are illegal nowadays that they will be severely punished by spending years in a horrible prison system. And when they do finally get out they are still punished by society for doing that thing years ago.

The government, starting at the top and going down the list.
Scheming, money grubbing, cheating, double dealing lot, all of them. Always sticking their noses in other countries affairs, when they r unable to solve or better the many problems right here in the USA.

As a outsider staying in Asia, US is to be blamed for the double standards in its Policy making. hat they value at home for their citizens is abused & ignored in dealing with rest of the world. They would go on supporting Pakistan ( Dictatorship + Terrorist State ) against all rational logic & proof but would like to be known as Protector of Democracy.
This kind of actions have largely made US a target of terrorist.

Globalization - because it allows greedy corporate execs to move jobs over seas to countries who don't play by the same rules (worker rights, environmental safeguards, human-rights, etc.) that the US requires. Americans are not only losing their jobs, but we are being required to buy the crap made over seas because we are the biggest market in the world (at least for now).

The direction it is going. The "thought police" is pretty scary, where we are getting to the point where you're considered evil if you think poorly of being gay or the like, but you're almost encouraged if you think poorly of religion. I worry that we will loose our right to think for ourselves and be religious if we so choose.

I think the biggest problem is health care getting so expensive that most people cannot pay their hospital bill.
