I do think college referees, probably unintentionally, tend to favor traditional powerhouses when it gets down to the wire. I call it the Duke effect.

Worst (no) call of the night definitely goes to the refs missing the blatant travel on Georgetown's game winner over Vandy. Normally, I'm all for refs swallowing their whistle during the last 10 seconds so that the play on the court decides the game, but this guy got caught by a great trap and he took multiple steps, blatantly changing his pivot foot, to get free for the bank shot. Without the travel, he couldn't have even gotten a shot off and it changed the outcome as Georgetown won by one.

Those refs should be removed from the rest of the tournament, and I say this as an Ohio State student with no dog in that particular fight.

bad calls were made both ways. I imagine both sides could pick out plays that hurt their team.

USC fans should wonder how their team couldn't score a romp with holding Hansbrough to 5 points for the game. USC couldn't hit the far side of a barn by the end of the game. That wasn't officiating.

Dem's da breaks!

Have you ever heard a fan of the winning team whine about bad officiating? I haven't.

the refs always suck when you lose the game but really the calls all even out in the end believe me. usc just got beat thats all plain and simple. it would have been nice to have 3 teams in the great 8 and final four but usc dropped the ball and lost as usual... GO DUCKS!!!! QUACK DAMN IT!!!

Try the Memphis - A&M game, or the Vandy - Georgetown game. There r missed calls in every game, but those 2 games were more blatant than every other game.

howdy barry those are actually not D1 refs. in case you paid interest ohh for the previous couple of months, that became the beef, became they weren't that reliable.... they're lacking calls, better than extensive-unfold than the traditional refs. after wednesdays sport i assumed, nicely that wasnt undesirable, yet that team became hand picked for that sport. yet considered too many uncomplicated calls already not being suggested as. and that they are actually not even putting the ball precise.
