hi,when we plant a tree we save the environment.Photosynthesis takes place in every green plant,which is in the presence of water ,sunlight and carbon dioxide the leaves make food for the entire plant. After this oxygen is left as a by product,which is good for us. if there would be less trees the environment would be in danger,no rain,unpredictable weather etc.

Not much to explain other than that the more trees present on earth the greater amount of carbon dioxide being filtered from the atmosphere which in turn decreases the effects of global warming. Trees also are necessary in maintaining environments for many animal and reptilian species (i.e. rain forests) and they also prevent erosion.
