I have... and it's really embarrassing since I work at a gas station... you'd think I 'd remember to fill up once in a while...

You don't really think I would hike to a gas station, do you? I make the wife do it, and at the same time, she can bring me lunch, and a 12 pak of beer. If that's too much to carry, she can go back for the gas.

Yes, but I usually got picked up. Now that I'm older, I don't allow myself to run out of gas, and I surely wouldn't get in a stranger's car......I'm surprised I made it out of my youth.

yes, but my "best" was when i rolled to the pump.
until crime on the hwys and byways of life became such a factor, i used to consider it a challenge to see how close i could get before a refill.

A couple of times. I had a couple cars with broken fuel gauges, and I always had to guess how much fuel I had left.
