Like the one I answered yesterday, "Is uk a country?" (sic).
Every correct answer (yes it is) has got thumbs down. What does this signify? That people don't want it to be a country, or that they simply are that ignorant?
Is the USA a country?

We have no way of knowing who gives thumbs down the way we can tell who gives Stars. Several months ago I saw a similar question and one person said that when he asks a question he goes through giving thumbs up or down to help him narrow his pick down when he goes to pick the best answer. Relative to your question about the UK being a country did you notice whether the first correct answer also had a thumbs down?
Edit: Could it simply be a matter of the Capitalization Police trying to get you to use UK rather than uk?
I live in Connecticut and the 2 letter abbreviation is CT but many people write it as Ct. which is actually the abbreviation for Court not Connecticut.

People don't want to be a country. People will rebel against anything that is normal. Isn't that the way things just are? Is USA a country? No, it is a nation. America is a country. I know I deserve all your thumbs down for this. Don't worry about hurting my feelings. I've already called the national rejection hotline. I Had so much fun listening to their put downs. :)

whenever i answer a question that is somwhat political, and i get a thumbs down, im actually happy about it! lemme explain, i know that i belive that my answer was factual, well thought out, and above all, right. the fact that somone decided to give me a thumbs down simply means that they were pissed off about it. i dont care what they think, i think most of the time they give me thumbs down its because they dont want to deal w/ the FACTS that go against what they belive (which is likely true in your situation w/ ur answer about the UK) so dont stress it, u belive that your answer was right, so be happy about it.

Some people just troll all the questions and give a thumbs down to all the answers just for the hell of it.

Some people give the thumbs down just for their own amusement. I couldn't care less if I get thumbs down or up.

yeah, some people are monsters-- they take pleasure in making people feel bad, so they give everyone thumbs down.
maybe they had a 'bad day', or something.
