Everyone I asked says Jack is gay. Really? I mean, look at the evidence. He got slapped several times by the prostitutes he apparently had affairs with. He flirts with Elizabeth, and allowed her to kiss him. He tries (many times) to kill his love rival, Will (swordfighting in the barn and on the mill wheel, hanging him over the edge of the water), but never succeeds. What do you guys think? Is that Bohemian pirate that walks funny (probably inebriated) not straight?

I don't think so, he is into Elizabeth way too much. Did you not see Dead Man's Chest? The compass he has always points to what he desires the most and it always points to Elizabeth.
As far as his swagger, he is basing his character on Keith Richards. Captain Jack Sparrow is supposed to be portrayed as an eccentric pirate, not the "usual" pirate.

According to an interview i saw on tv once it was ither the director or johnny depp ... jack sparrow is suppose to be gay ... a gay pirate obviously very affeminate

He's not gay, he's just odd. Plus, while Disney is very "gay friendly," they are not about to alienate their family audience because that is where they make their money. And, unfortunately, there are a lot of people out there who would boycott a good movie simply because a character was gay.

jack is straight, however historically pirates/sailors/soilders we're bisexual. they slept with women when available but had relationships with each other when away from home. it's what made the greek army such a force to reckon with, that bond.

now and lower back he can merely have the mannerisms there while he deals with distinctive situations, i assume. i might say the way that he walks and how his arms are form of in girly manners. different than that i don't think of he's that gay interior the movie, in basic terms slightly, you relatively might desire to return and inspect the movie and merely look ahead to what he does, then you certainly will see.
