The ultrasound would be a better choice. It shows the growth of the baby and the tech's go by that. I was in the same situation. I had no idea what was my last mentral cycle was and guessed. When it came time for my ultrasound, the baby was actually a week older than what my due was. Needless to say, she came on the date of what the ultrasound stated.

The only time an accurate EDD can be given is if you have an ultrasound at about 6-8 weeks. Otherwise it is best to go by the doctors EDD. The 20 week scan can be out by heaps, as a child grows and can be off different sizes. This means that what you are at 20 weeks someone else could be at 17 weeks. The doctors should keep an eye on you and tell you when you are really late.

I also didnt know when my last period was either so I guessed and my due date was Febuary 11. We'll then I had an ultrasound and they changed it to Febuary 28. I had my daughter on Febuary 19. I was 39 weeks pregnant. You go by the ultrasound. They measure your baby and tell you how much it weighs and thats how they determine how far along you are. It dosent matter if your Doc wont change it. Just because March 28 th is your due date dosent mean the baby is gonna come that day.

An ultrasound at 21 weeks isn't very solid so some distance as determining a due date. they often use the EDD from an united statesbeforehand the 8 week mark. All toddler's are extremely an identical length at 6-8 weeks, yet at 21 weeks the ameliorations in toddler's length are extensive-ranged, so maximum probable, and as particular of once you're for conceiving the toddler, your LMP has a a lot greater effective possibility of accuracy than an u/s. Congrats on your being pregnant!

I knew when my last period was but the u/s said differenlty... well she was born 1 day before when I thought she was supposed to be due, she was just small for dates, and 11 days early by the u/s standards.
You'll only know when the baby will come, by when the baby comes, some women have their babies early, some don't deliver until 42weeks yikes! I'd say just to help ease your mental tension, say your due on the 1st, that way if baby comes early, it's all good, but if baby comes after the early due date, then you'll be feeling more anxious. Just try and "enjoy" these last few pregnant days lol, once baby is in your arms you'll be busy so spend some time nesting, and cleaning, and that will help baby move down lower, and make it easier to come out too.

Neither date is set in stone.. Your baby doesn't have a calendar in there and could care less what date means over due... The baby will come when it's ready..
I would go by the later date... I know it gets tough at the end when you are so uncomfortable and so ready to have the baby out.. But due dates either by last menstral cycle or ultrasound are only best guesses not rock solid answers..

The only person who knows your actual due date is that little baby. Babys are rarely born on the actual due date, they come whenever it is conveinent for them. I've had 3 ultra sounds so far and I'm only 23 weeks prego all 3 of them have been different and the one my doctor gave me was different aswell. Just be patient, any extra time baby spends in there is time he/she needs to put the finishing touches on before they arrive.

go by your ultra sound they would have measured the baby and given an accurate gestational age that's why they have dating scans.
also the doc does it by the day of your last period which is assuming everyone has a 28 day cycles and that you would of conceived 14 days after your period but this is not always the case.
the docs is a rough guild the ultrasound is accurate

in my oppion I trust the ultrasound over the doctor. With my first born, my doctor told me I was only 1 month along since he went by my last period, the ultrasound said I was 4 months along (I had bled threw the first four months), however when my son was born the doctors said they feel I carried him atleast ten months. So I guess sometimes its better to go with your gut feeling as to when you are due..

Well if you just guessed when your last period was and the doc based the due date off of that, then you should go by the ultrasound
