I have stage 4 endo have had my tubes tied, 3 laps, countless d & c's, just had endometrial ablation and haven't stopped bleeding since my surgery almost 3 months ago. Still considering my options.

Partial (subtotal) hysterectomy. Removes the uterus but leaves the cervix in place. By keeping the cervix, your risk of cervical cancer remains, so you'll still need regular Pap tests for screening.
After surgery, you'll remain in the recovery room for a few hours. You'll be monitored for signs of pain and discomfort. You'll take medicine for pain and to prevent infection. You'll probably be up and walking around by the following day. You'll need to use sanitary pads for vaginal bleeding and discharge. It's normal to have bloody drainage for several days after a hysterectomy.

Understand that you won't be back to your usual self for at least four to six weeks. If you've had a vaginal hysterectomy, you might feel better long before this time, but it's important to adhere to activity restrictions. Get plenty of rest. Don't lift anything heavy for a full six weeks after the operation. Your doctor may recommend other restrictions, but eventually you'll return to your normal activities.

You didn't give enough information regarding your surgery. Are you having vaginal or abdominal? I had abdominal, and was home in five days, with very few problems. You may need help getting up and down, as stitches will pull for a few days. You will have pain pills for a few days, but I didn't really need them. If your body is strong and healthy to start, you won't have any problems. It will take about a year for your incision to fade to a regular skin tone, and believe me, life will be a lot easier. Best wishes

the partial feels the same as the full except that you still make your hormones because your ovaries stay, its not a lot of fun but you will be ok, they put you out, cut you down the middle below your belly button and take out your uterus, then they sew it all back up or staple it, and you sleep it off, you will stay several days, it was 7 for me but might be less now. mine was over 20 years ago.
