I don't know enough one syllable words to describe how average that is ...

It's in the range considered average . . .on the high side of average.

By the way, the 13-year-old professor above is certainly not at the top of the grammatical, spelling, or punctuation totem pole. His high score on a standardized test appears to have the effect of affecting his opinion of himself.

Some people get really pretentious about IQ. It has virtually no correlation to the level of success you can be expected to achieve in life.

As this is a common question, I will say this. If you have no comprehension of what your test results mean, you are apparently not at the top of the metaphorical totem pole. If you in fact love specificity, those above me have given such information, and as the person directly above me so eloquently put, there are many factors that effect your score other than intelligence. Also to the person directly above me, what do you get out of telling other people what you scored. To put it in perspective, it is similar to me telling you what a scored on the P-SAT (1590) this past year( I am fourteen by the way), it does little for you. To the first person to answer this question, she is doing "well", not "good".

It's not a bad score, I scored significantly higher than that- however- I feel that standard IQ tests are not a reliable method of measuring ones intelligence. IQ tests assess what you learned in school, and how good you do there depends on your level of social compliance, motivation, mood, distractibility, potential etc.

Given that you took an accurate test, 117 is defined as scoring higher than 87% of the population. Interpret that as you want.

However, know that tests like tickle are not accurate.

50% of the population have an IQ between 89 and 111.
80% have an IQ between 80 and 120, with 10% less than 80 and 10% greater than 120
Only 2% of the population have an IQ of 132 or greater.
