Ignorance is number one. Media allowing garbage to spew into the weak minds of the American idol crowd as I like to call them. I am sure that will offend many but it's true. People are more concerned with what happened on American idol than they are concerned with what their government is doing to them and other countries. The thought process goes something like this,I cant do anything about it so I just don't watch or pay attention. Its been years of neglect of the american people to keep the government in check. Great presidents in our past have stated Never let the government get so powerful it goes against the wishes of the american people. Question your Government, as Jfk once said" is to be a patriot."

It is a myth that there ever was some Golden Age when corruption did not exist. The American government has always been very corrupt, but not nearly as corrupt as many other countries.
As Nietzche pointed-out, "power likes to walk on crooked legs" (in "Thus Spoke Zarathustra"). It is almost an axiom of human nature that power will be abused.
You have to make-up your mind whether civilization and order are good things or not. If you believe civilization is a good thing, you will have to accept that some measure of corruption is a byproduct.
Other comparable countries (Sweden, France, U.K.) are rife with corruption. In many other countries (Nigeria, Russia, Egypt, etc.), corruption doesn't just leech off of the system, it IS the system.

Your right Jim. We live in a false democracy. Just look at our working environment and we cant even bring back our troops. We depend on food, water, and property all of wich should be free. The reason we let them rule our lives is because of all the power they have. They have the army, non public controled media, the poloticians, corporations, and our taxes. Government is government and they will always rule are lives.
