The latest trends for Spring are to be to update your neutrals. While black and white are still in, navy blue is coming back and it's all about CONTRAST of light and dark/bright and dark/bright and white.

The best way to keep updating your wardrobe on a limited budget are with key interchangeable pieces that are classic and can go casual or dressy - like a crisp white shirt can be worn with navy slacks or a skirt just as well as it can go with jeans.

Cute tops this season have a feminine flair - with accents such as tapered cuts but, maybe a flowy cap sleeve or tie in the back (tops are longer not cropped), from what I've seen, but this could be a geographical thing.

When updating your wardrobe, think accessories (this is another way to keep expenses down)......from belts, scarves, jewelry or a cute handbag that can go with both casual and dressier looks in a neutral color.

Look for trendy seasonal tops and separates at discount stores. But make sure your basic pieces that are classics are of good quality - because these are the pieces that are going to have to withstand constant cleaning and keep their shape.

You can get great deals during seasonal sales and clearances, get a few vintage pieces at thrift shops, or sew them yourself if you're that crafty. You may find deals in catalogs, too - but some people don't like to shop this way, they need to try things on.

Don't think updating your wardrobe is limited to just clothing...... your total look can be changed with a hair accessory or sunglasses, too. Make up should stay basic and neutral, but add a fun new lip or nail color or eye shadow to the mix to update your total look.

This isn't about 'quantity' - so I don't think this has much to do with numbers of tops, bags, shoes and such as you asked for - you need a couple of each item to rotate in and out.

You need a couple of different length skirts ( a good A-line or pencil skirt for work, a flowy casual one for weekends that you can move in with ease). Pants shouldn't be trendy - stay with a shape that compliments your hips and legs the best, and let your tops be the thing you change up in look - wearing them different ways under jackets or with cardigans or layered or simply on their own.

Think long-term instead of short-term. It'll help your dollar stretch further. Do an inventory of what you already have so when you go shopping you don't duplicate or gravitate toward something too similar and be redundant.

Don't settle - if something is cute, but it doesn't fit you well.

Have fun. Go window shopping and look at the displays......see the pattern/trend in colors and styles and what you like vs. what works with your lifestyle and do look for pieces that can be worn daytime/nighttime, work vs. play/weekend. You'll find your dollar goes a lot farther if you can get more wear out of certain separates and get more for your money.

Good luck!

It depends where you live. You could try shopping at places like Target, Ross, or Marshalls. They tend to have nice items ranging from tops to pants to accessories. You may also want to try a nice thrift shop or your local downtown stores.

Look around. You don't have to go shopping in just one place. You might find a nice blouse at one store and pants in another.

Shop around and look at fashion magazines, such as Elle or fashion t.v. shows. They often show the latest trends. You can try to mimick the style without having to hurt your wallet at the same time.

As for how much of everything should you have? It depends. It's good to have enough of everything, but don't go overboard. Have enough so you can use it interchangeably and not repeat an outfit that often.

I did not like the intense blue bow on Heather's get dressed on Thursday. She probably attire very adorable even though. I believe each person is overdressed in this exhibit. People simply do not put on formals to paintings. Most businesses have long past beautiful informal. But I believe Phyllis and Victoria have pleasant wardrobes. Amber's is extraordinary and kinda loopy, however it suits her flawlessly. And Lily has the worst.
