I went to UCSD and I asked the same question. The answer I received was that they encourage their students to experience other universities which doesn't necessarily mean that they don't accept one of their own. One of the reasons is because some people never do anything else but just study. They are encouraging their students to be well-rounded.

Do you know about the 4+1 program? Some departments such as Biology and CS have 5 year Master's program where a well-qualified student can graduate with both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in 5 years. Typically you apply your Junior year.

So there is no set rule that says they don't accept one of their own. If you are well-qualified, they won't reject you just flat out. Luckily there are other UCs that are also excellent.

I have been given rejected from u.s.. It became my dream college for some years, and that i found out that information the former day at precisely 3:30 PM. yet this 365 days became quite terrible and extremely aggressive, because of the fact all UC colleges inclusive of u.s. extremely picked quite much less people whilst in comparison with previous years. I have been given popular to u.s. and am waiting for UCI and UCLA. i'm hoping I a minimum of get into UCI. stable success
