That is the Access Direct Button.
Press this button to launch a frequently used program, such as your default Internet browser. You can reprogram the button to launch a program of your choice.

To change the reprogrammable button settings, or to find information on using the button:

In Windows XP
Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.

Under Pick a category, click Printers and Other Hardware, click Keyboard, and then click the AccessDirect tab.

Click Help, and follow the instructions.

In Windows 98 and Windows 2000
Open the Control Panel window, and then double-click the Keyboard icon.

Click the AccessDirect tab in the Keyboard Properties window.

Click Help, and follow the instructions.

When the laptop is docked the button is disabled.
