Don't dress just to look like the other employees. Dress to impress.
A pants suit is always best. If you already have black pants you can buy a suit jacket to match at target starting at $25.
Trust me, it will be worth the investment.
Buy something simple, not trendy, so it will be versatile.
With your pants suit you should wear a button up, collared blouse, or at least a nice shirt that is not low cut. Close toed black shoes are best. Avoid flashy jewelry or over the top makeup. Wear your hair up to give the most professional appearance.
Your job might not require you to dress like this for an interview, but it will give the best impression and give you an edge over the other candidates.

First I'd make sure to shower and be clean and fresh, I mean no offense but I would advise no cologne and no perfume, perhaps a little deodorant yes.
Clothes wise, probably some dressy pants or a longer skirt but not party dressy more like formal and not super formal like for a funeral or wedding, but more casual like, and a buttoned shirt or a blouse, well, just look the part and I agree it is better a little over than under dressed.
Doesn't have to be perfectly pressed but neat and straight and not something that's been sitting rumpled in a drawer lol, I think you get the drift ok so just look neat and decent and you should be fine.
Oh, and I would make sure to arrive a solid 15 minutes before appointment time, meaning you don't have to walk in the store that early but give yourself extra time when you leave in case of traffic and what have you, you can always blow off a few minutes sitting in your car after you arrive but don't be late 'k.
Good luck

Dark wash jeans that are not lowcut and have a bootcut fit and absolutely no rips, tears, or fraying are fine. They should look like slacks, really. If not, just wear nice black slacks and a button up shirt.
Try to keep your makeup natural, and jewelry to a bare minimum. Another trick is to pull your hair back, as it looks professional and shows your face. This, along with good posture and a relaxed smile, give off body language that say "I really appreciate this, and I want to be here!"
Good luck! The fact that you are asking shows you care. That is really what matters when you go out for the job.

Basically any job interview that you go to you should always dress business casual. A nice pair of slacks or jeans and dress shirt would be appropriate for the staples job, you don't want to look out of place.. Just keep it simple but neat and don't overdue it.. remember No Sneakers

You'd be much better wearing black slacks. Some businesses have a strict "no jeans" policy, but even if this place isn't one of them, with very few exceptions, you're always better off going a little more formal than jeans.
