my computer keeps on saying couldnt open service manager ..what does that mean ??and what do i do ??

when i plug in my ipod "couldnt open service manager" appears. what do i do in order to update my ipod?

Are you logged into the computer with admin. rights? That message sometimes happens when you are not and attempting a function that requires that level of rights.
