Afghanistan was not attacked. The Taliban whom was opressing the Afghan people was attacked.

Contrary to an answer above me, Afghanistan is not an oil rich nation. Afghanistan has only a few natural resources. Its agricultural products consist of opium, wheat, fruits, nuts, wool, mutton, sheepskins, and lambskins. Its industries are small-scale production of textiles, soap, furniture, shoes, fertilizer, cement; hand-woven carpets; natural gas, coal, and copper. All of Afghanistan’s production is very small and not nearly enough to support the government or population. Their quality of life and 40% unemployment rate reflect this (source: CIA World Factbook). The biggest promise the government has for income is in the form of tariffs. Tariffs that come from neighboring countries shipping through Afghanistan to nearby seaports. However, Afghanistan does not have a road structure. Some people call the roads here, “dirt roads.” However, they are not much better than paths.

The US Army Corps of Engineers has been managing design and construction projects for a ring road around the country and roads interconnecting the towns and villages. Most of the funding for these roads is coming from USAID and other international contributions.

Who is ending this war? The Afghans are. They are the ones working these construction projects; roads, schools, police facilities, power plants, etc... To come to work they must daily defy the threat of murder and execution given by the Taliban. They work to make money to support their families and to give hope to their country. With help, Afghanistan will soon be able to economically support itself. In the end, the Afghans will end the war in their own country with a little monetary and manpower help from other countries. These good, hardworking people only want a better life. They can do the work. They just need a little help. Put down your signs, stop writing blogs, end the bickering between party lines, and help the Afghan people. This is how war in Afghanistan will end.

Becasue it's damn near impossible to isolate Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. First of all they know they land and can blend in etc., but they also receive a lot of support from the people. So, in truth not everyone is innocent.Think of it this way: Why did Roosevelt attack the whole of Germany even though they were innocent (becasue technically we only needed to take down the Nazi political regime). But many Germans kept silent about the Holocaust, so in truth a majority of the country was to blame. And also, we are not attacking Afghanistan-we have not declared war on the country. Why is it that you liberals can't see the truth?

The "people" of Afghanistan were not "attacked", the Taliban were. There is a difference. And they are NOT innocent.

Because he's the big boss??? So many innocent people are being tortured,
murdered, etc. etc. It saddens me. One person shouldn't have that much power.

the bush family business is oil, war with an oil producing country gives a reason to raise prices here, even though the prices the oil companies are charged haven't gone up.
