A lot of people want to assume you're in Florida, I want to as well, but I try not to. But I am going to guess what your yard looks like.
You're in a warm climate somewhere, you've got a nice pretty yard, lots of bushes and or flowerbeds, maybe some rocks or logs or brushpiles outside..... the weather's so nice it's hard not to leave the door and/or windows open from time to time.....
All of these factors increase lizard population. The only way to get rid of all of them is to move somewhere that the climate won't support them. All they're after is insects, "But there's no bugs in my house!" you say... of course not, you've got lizards in your house, you're not going to see any bugs.
Oh, and most likely, (dependant upon species of course and in Florida, this is going to be mostly dependable) they're not active at night time, and so won't be crawling on you when you are asleep, because they'll be asleep.

First if you want to catch them yo can paralyze them for about 2 to 4 hours and then throw them out. They won't die. They will be all right later.
Another way is that every week for the next 4 months, you search the entire house for their eggs. Usually they will be behind a photo frame. And at night keep your windows closed.
finally to get rid of adults, get some sulfur and throw them at the side walls. You go for a holiday. They wont die, they will just crawl away.
Eventually you will not have anymore lizard visitors!!!

lol, thats sound scarey having them crawlin all over you when youre in bed. one thing i can say that you should always close youre windows so that they cant get in side the house. if you have a small holes any where on youre walls or doors you should put osmething to block them out like put a rocks next to the doors, etc.. you can just try to flash them with water hose cause they do hate beingin wet . you can go shop buy a small woods and nail them onto youre front yards so that they cant even get into the house . and threw some fruits at them cause must be the reasons why you have them coming cause they had might smell something like foods .

Let me guess...you live in Florida, right??? Embrace the reptiles...they are your friends!
Did you know that approx. 48% on Florida's indegenous wildlife is a reptile or amphibean? Not to mention all the invasive species like the cuban brown anole, green iguanas, day geckos, burmese pythons, and , yes, I hate to admit it, red-ear slider. They mean you no harm, they are not after your food, they don't spread disease the way thier favorite prey does-BUGS!!! I would much rather have a lizard crawl on me in my sleep-have you SEEN the size of the roaches down here!?!

some great ideas above but to really get rid of them you will need probably to get an exterminator and tell them you do not want them killed. they will locate the entrances for you and seal them. they will set out live traps and trap them for you they will get trid of them also. it will take up to 6 months unfortunately. this is what they do. then you can sprinkle mothballs around the house to deter them from reentering but they will not harm the lizards the ammonia smell will be offensive but you will have to replace them about every other rain but they are cheap.

I can understand you not wanting them to crawl on you while you are sleeping but..... In many cultures around the world lizzards in your home are a sign of good luck, further lizzards in your house are a good thing as they feed on insects leaving your home rid of the unwanted pests. Try to ignore them. And in any event the lizzards have a shortened lifespan when residing in your home.

well, generally speaking i'm not in favor of letting cats kill natural wildlife, but i don't see how you will get rid of the lizards without killing them. in fact, no matter what you do i suspect you will be more likely to keep their population in check rather than exterminate them.
cats would be good to keep them in check. although i suggest you get a farm cat that knows how to kill. cute cuddly kittens from the humane society will mostly likely not do the trick.
(you could adopt them anyway though :)

Do those sonar things work on lizards? You just plug them in and they make this sound that we can't hear but it chases away bugs and things.
